Cross of the Sleeping Phoenix (or The Warrior is Lost)

Initially a phoenix painted at a memorial for a friend lost, "Cross of the Sleeping Phoenix or The Warrior is Lost" was vandalized when the artist stepped away from the canvas for a moment during its conception, in parallel to how his friend's work was the target of an arsonist before they chose to leave this realm by taking their own life.

After a few months of contemplation of how to continue, c.weird proceeded with black light sabre in one hand and brush in the other tracing with white paint every edge of the vandal's markings, becoming a ledger of light, a meditation in reverence of the ruin, to ultimately rise anew as what you see before you.

Hieros Gamos

Hieros gamos, hieros (ἱερός) meaning “holy” or “sacred” and gamos (γάμος) meaning “marriage,” or Hierogamy (Greek: ἱερὸς γάμος, ἱερογαμία “holy marriage”), is a sacred marriage that plays out between gods.

Sparked by a Black Sabbath lyric + the state of our world today, this painting expressively integrates images of nature and industry, the sacred and profane.
